It isn't an easy color to live with i.e. on your bedroom walls! But it will always be associated with Valentine's Day, with hearts in every sense, with living, and with sex. It is lust unadulterated by compassion or knowledge - the softer forms of love would be represented with a paler, less aggressive, pinker tone.
